The Ascension of Hearts and Steven’s Day!

The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts,
All on a summer day:
The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts,
And took them quite away!”

-Lewis Carrol, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

The air was sweet as the portal between realms opened once again; The Queen of Hearts, along with Alice, the Mock Turtle, and the Cheshire Cat passed through the portal to the Realm of ORCS. The Queen had grown tired of her card soldiers and had fired them all, deciding to recruit the realm she had seen fight so well all those months ago.

The day began with deciding the hierarchy of cards; who would be a two, three, four, and so on. Bill of Warspite came out on top as the new King of Hearts, quickly followed by PG of Warspite as the Jack and Book of Warspite as the Ten. After the hierarchy was decided, the realm was divided in two and groups of four fought against each other, those who remained alive stayed on fighting, each side trying their best to come out on top. Afterwards a simple game of Alice vs. The Queen of Hearts was played, with the realm dividing in teams to fight for either Alice or the Queen. The goal: steal the Cheshire Cat’s head and keep it for as long as possible, until either the other team captures it or the Cat grows bored and wanders off with it’s head.

Of course, this breech of realms was not the only events going on today; Steven’s Day is a yearly holiday celebrated throughout the realm (except by Tyrcath) in honor of Steven of Eileana’ Reult. Males, females, and all those in between celebrated by donning the garb of a gender they did not identify as. Steven himself was dressed to impress with a lovely flower crown and skirt, being sure to show off his abs as his country members and people across the realm dressed to celebrate.
